About the home
Alexandra House is a beautifully situated, purpose-built care home providing residential and dementia care for up to 47 residents. Each resident’s en-suite room includes a modern wet room, ensuring comfort and convenience.
Originally the Alexandra Hotel, this historic building opened its doors on 25 May 1903. It even hosted a visit from King Edward VII in 1905, who dined here with his officers. Today, Alexandra House retains its prominent seafront location, allowing residents to enjoy stunning coastal views and easy access to local amenities. The nearby library and community hub are just around the corner, offering opportunities for outings and connection within the Dovercourt community.
A dedicated and compassionate care team ensures that each resident receives personalised, 24-hour support tailored to their unique needs and preferences. This person-centred approach allows residents to maintain their independence with the reassurance that help is always close by, fostering a true sense of security and well-being in a place rich with history and care.
