The Second Cup

make it matter

Quiet. Unseen. Unspoken.

Around 1 million older people in the UK say they always or often feel lonely. For many, loneliness isn't occasional, it's constant.

Forgotten

Days drift into weeks, and weeks into months.

Conversations fade. Routines shrink.

Without someone to talk to, loneliness can quietly take hold, affecting physical health, mental wellbeing, and a person's sense of purpose.

No one should feel forgotten.

At MHA, we're working to end loneliness for older people across the UK.

Through our befriending services, we connect isolated older people with someone who listens and visits regularly. A friendly face or voice on the phone. A relationship that reminds someone they matter.

£13 a month

Could provide a weekly befriending call to a lonely older person, offering companionship and a friendly voice.
