What makes The Beeches special?
Respite care at The Beeches
Respite care, also known as short-term or short-stay care, is a temporary living arrangement at a care home. It gives both carers, and those being cared for, a bit of time off and a chance to recharge their batteries.
At The Beeches, we offer residential and dementia respite care. Everyone staying with us for a respite break will receive personalised care, tailored to their individual needs. They’ll have their own furnished room and be encouraged to take part in the life of our home and the many activities on offer.
Where are we?
The home is situated within its own grounds in the small town of Wath-upon-Dearne just outside Rotherham. The town dates back to Norman times, having an entry in the Domesday Book and was described as “the Queen of villages” by poet James Montgomery in the 19th century. The location ensures both quiet surroundings and a relaxed pace of life. There are community amenities close by including shops, a library and a Post Office.
Chaplaincy and pastoral support
The Beeches is proud to be supported by a dedicated Chaplain who offers pastoral support to all, whatever their beliefs. Our chaplain provides a listening presence, companionship and one-to-one pastoral support for all residents, their friends and relatives, and staff members - irrespective of their beliefs - and organise worship for those who wish to participate. Where appropriate, residents are encouraged to maintain links with local faith communities.
Activities, trips and events
We support everybody’s individual choices, interests and hobbies and our passionate Activity Coordinators love keeping residents active and entertained. They provide a fun-packed and stimulating schedule for people to participate in as they choose.
There’s our choir, armchair exercise sessions, baking, flower arranging, arts and crafts, quizzes, bingo, external entertainers and church services, just to mention a few of the things we get up to.
Seize the day - unique and memorable opportunities
Funded through charitable support, every MHA care home also prides itself in being able to offer unique and memorable opportunities and activities for residents to quite literally help them 'seize the day'.
