What makes Epworth Grange special?
“A friendly, caring and professional home to live in which is noticeable as soon as you arrive at the door” Independent relative review, carehome.co.uk
Where are we?
It is just a short distance from the town centre of Bury, with its multiple In Bloom awards, art and regimental museums, a heritage railway and famous open-air market (which is only one of its shopping opportunities). But even within itself alone, Epworth Grange has plenty to offer.
Activities, trips and events
Our beautifully landscaped gardens and patios are lovely areas to relax and enjoy the sunshine. Our hair salon is perfect for a spot of pampering. We have a schedule of optional events and activities, helping residents to explore their interests and discover new ones. Along with frequent animal visits, there’s armchair exercises, gardening, baking, flower arranging, arts and crafts, quizzes, bible studies and church services. We also have a dedicated chaplain and offer music therapy for our residents living with dementia.
We regularly invite local singers and musicians in to perform, which always creates a great atmosphere.
Award-winning music therapy
Epworth Grange Care Home is committed to providing alternative therapies such as music therapy to help alleviate isolation and the symptoms for those living with dementia. Our trained therapist is funded by charitable donations. She spends a day each week at the home and interacts directly with residents through live music therapy sessions. This includes singing, playing simple percussion instruments or responding to musical cues in a one-to-one or group setting. Take a look at our video to find out more about this life-changing therapy.
Chaplaincy and pastoral support
Epworth Grange is proud to be supported by a dedicated Chaplain who offers pastoral support to all, whatever their beliefs. Our chaplain provides a listening presence, companionship and one-to-one pastoral support for all residents, their friends and relatives, and staff members - irrespective of their beliefs - and organise worship for those who wish to participate. Where appropriate, residents are encouraged to maintain links with local faith communities.
Seize the day – unique and memorable opportunities
Funded through charitable support, every MHA care home also prides itself in being able to offer unique and memorable opportunities and activities for residents to quite literally help them 'seize the day'.
Epworth Grange offers care and comfort, compassion and friendship. At the heart of all we offer is our assurance that you will be treated with the respect and dignity that we all deserve, and if you need anything at all, we’re here to help, 24 hours a day.
Whether in the privacy of your own room or relaxing in the company of your friends and neighbours, we will support you to spend your time doing the things you enjoy. Let us know if it’s music, a favourite newspaper, exercise or a spot of pampering at the salon. Landscaped gardens invite you to appreciate the fresh air, or tend the plants, if you wish. There’s a wide range of social events, so you never need to feel bored or lonely.
Epworth Grange has the latest safety and security design features so you can live life to the full with peace of mind.
Our residential care is all about providing a special kind of home from home. It’s our way of making sure your loved one continues to live life to its fullest and remains as independent as possible. It means they can get out and about when they want to, catch up with friends or pop to the shops, but with the added security and peace of mind that comes from knowing 24-hour support is available if they need it.
Our team are on hand to offer just the right amount of care, giving those who need it support with activities such as bathing, dressing and mealtimes. Without having to worry about cooking meals, washing clothes or getting the hoover out, you’ll see your loved one truly enjoying life and exploring their full potential.
We’re proud to be recognised for our pioneering approach to dementia care, which is carefully built around each individual.
Our dementia facilities here are second to none, and specially designed to provide a reassuringly familiar, engaging and warm environment for those living with us. Our bedroom doors have memory boxes to assist your loved one to find their room and our dementia areas open into a secure and peaceful garden.
Residents enjoy music therapy, designed to stimulate social interaction and alleviate the feeling of isolation associated with dementia. We also do lots of reminiscence activities, including doll therapy and have themed activities based on different eras.
We encourage our residents to furnish their own rooms as they wish. This could be as simple as hanging a couple of their favourite pictures on the wall, but they’re also welcome to bring their own comfy chair, or anything that makes them feel at home. The most important thing is for everyone to feel comfortable, happy and settled.
All bedrooms have an en suite toilet and sink and some rooms enjoy lovely garden views. If your loved one enjoys catching up with the latest news, sport, chat shows or soaps, we can provide a TV in their room on request, and there’s WiFi throughout the home.
Meal times are a special part of the day for you to savour tasty food, freshly cooked by our chef to suit you and any dietary needs. And, of course refreshments are available throughout the day for you and your visitors, who are welcome at any time.
Our commitment to your wellbeing
Our highly-trained, dedicated members of staff will always be on hand to provide your care and support in the way that best suits you, in the comfort of your own room with en suite facilities.
We choose the people who work with us very carefully. They need to share our values and respect people, their life experience and personal choices.
We take pride in the cleanliness and maintenance of your home and provide a thorough and friendly cleaning service. Your personal washing will be carefully laundered and returned to you, clean and fresh.
