What makes us special?
Where are we?
Homewood is located in Royal Leamington Spa, set back off Kenilworth Road in beautifully landscaped grounds. We’re close to the town centre with a bus stop nearby and plenty of parking for visitors. Our convenient location ensures that residents can enjoy the peace of their home whilst remaining connected to the wider world.
Activities and events
Our Activity Coordinator keeps our residents active and entertained with a fun-packed activities calendar. Activities include: bowls, tai chi, quizzes, games, drama sessions, exercise classes, art sessions, bingo, scrabble, knit and knatter, poetry, gardening, knitting and church services. We also have a dedicated chaplain at Homewood.
We enjoy regular visits from pet therapy animals and have recently welcomed alpacas and chicks into the home.
And we love any excuse to put on a themed event for our staff, residents and relatives. Throughout the year you’ll see a variety of events organised which helps us maintain a lively community spirit within the home.
Chaplaincy and pastoral support
We’re proud to be supported by a dedicated chaplain at Homewood, offering pastoral support to all, whatever their beliefs. They are in the home twice a week, providing a listening presence, companionship and one-to-one pastoral support for all residents, their friends and relatives, and staff members - irrespective of their beliefs - and organise worship for those who wish to participate.
Seize the day – making unique and memorable opportunities
Funded through charitable support, every MHA care home also prides itself in being able to offer unique and memorable opportunities and activities for residents to quite literally help them 'seize the day'.
Visit us for an afternoon
If you’d like to experience living at Homewood, we’d love to invite you for lunch and to spend an afternoon with us. It’s the best way to really get a feel for our friendly home and decide if we’re right for you. We also offer short-term respite care.
We offer care and comfort, compassion and friendship. At the heart of all we offer is our assurance that you will be treated with the respect and dignity that we all deserve, and if you need anything at all, we’re here to help, 24 hours a day.
Whether in the privacy of your own room or relaxing in the company of your friends and neighbours, we will support you to spend your time doing the things you enjoy. Let us know if it’s music, a favourite newspaper, exercise or a spot of pampering at the salon. Landscaped gardens invite you to appreciate the fresh air, or tend the plants, if you wish. There’s a wide range of social events, so you never need to feel bored or lonely.
You’ll have access to health professionals when required and we have the latest safety and security design features so you can live life to the full with peace of mind.
“Mum was very well looked after and the carers were so respectful and loving with her. She loved having a joke with them.” Independent review on carehome.co.uk
All rooms are bright and spacious with en suite bathroom and we have free wifi throughout the home.
You can bring your own furniture to furnish your room, such as a favourite armchair or their own bed. Walls can be personalised with their own pictures, shelving and ornaments. Some of our residents bring their own curtains which makes the room theirs and more homely.
Finding a place that you can call "home" is a question of getting the right balance.
Our residential care provides 24 hour support to help residents maintain independence - giving you peace of mind and a place to make new friends and explore new interests.
In many ways it is like living in a hotel, where you don’t need to worry about laundry, changing the bed or cleaning your room. We will use the district nurse and GPs to provide any medical care. Our caring staff help with everyday activities like bathing and dressing and support at meal times.
At the same time, there is no reason why you can’t maintain links with the local community, or develop new friendships and relationships. Care staff will help you do that, while also working hard to create a home that is itself full of opportunity and possibility.
In the main living areas of the home you will find lounges where you can join in one of the many activities with others or to sit quietly with a book or newspaper.
Meal times are a special part of the day for you to savour tasty food, freshly cooked by our chef to suit you and any dietary needs. And, of course refreshments are available throughout the day for you and your visitors, who are welcome at any time. You’ll find baskets of fresh fruit and snacks on each floor.
Our highly-trained, dedicated members of staff will always be on hand to provide your care and support in the way that best suits you, in the comfort of your own room with en suite facilities.
We choose the people who work with us very carefully. They need to share our values and respect people, their life experience and personal choices.
We take pride in the cleanliness and maintenance of your home and provide a thorough and friendly cleaning service. Your personal washing will be carefully laundered and returned to you, clean and fresh.
Our regular exercise sessions, reflexology, tai chi and our own hair salon help keep you feeling and looking your best.
Our team are happy to help you when you are ready to discuss the care and support that you, or your loved one may need. You can call us directly, arrange a tour of our home or submit an enquiry and we’ll contact you.
