What makes Woodlands special?
Where are we?
We’re located in Poynton, close to the town centre and near Davenport Golf Club. The home is easily accessible by public transport with a bus stop conveniently placed just a short walk away.
Activities
We have a schedule of optional events and activities, helping residents to explore their interests and discover new ones. Along with frequent pet therapy visits, there’s armchair exercises, gardening, baking, flower arranging, arts and crafts, bingo, skittles and church services.
We enjoy regular visits from primary school children and often invite local singers and musicians in to entertain us.
Award-winning music therapy
Woodlands care home is committed to providing alternative therapies such as music therapy to help alleviate isolation and the symptoms for those living with dementia. Our trained and award-winning therapist is funded by charitable donations. They interact directly with residents through live music therapy sessions. This includes singing, playing simple percussion instruments or responding to musical cues in a one-to-one or group setting. Take a look at our video to find out more about this life-changing therapy.
Chaplaincy and pastoral support
We’re proud to be supported by a dedicated Chaplain, at Woodlands. They offer pastoral support to all, whatever their beliefs. They provide a listening presence, companionship and one-to-one pastoral support for all residents, their friends and relatives, and staff members - irrespective of their beliefs - and organise worship for those who wish to participate. Where appropriate, residents are encouraged to maintain links with local faith communities.
Seize the day – unique and memorable opportunities
Funded through charitable support, every MHA care home also prides itself in being able to offer unique and memorable opportunities and activities for residents to quite literally help them 'seize the day'.

Whether in the privacy of your own room or relaxing in the company of your friends and neighbours, we will support you to spend your time doing the things you enjoy. There’s a wide range of social events, so you never need to feel bored or lonely.
Woodlands has the latest safety and security design features so you can live life to the full with peace of mind.
We encourage our residents to furnish their own rooms as they wish. This could be as simple as hanging a couple of their favourite pictures on the wall, but they’re also welcome to bring their own comfy chair, or anything that makes them feel at home. The most important thing is for everyone to feel comfortable, happy and settled.
We have a mix of room types, including some with a full en suite wet room and others with an en suite toilet and sink. Some rooms also enjoy lovely garden views, and there’s WiFi throughout the home.
We have a call system which can be operated by a hand control or a pendant depending on personal preference. All floors are secured by keypad coding to ensure that residents are safe and secure at all times.
We provide round the clock specialist nursing care for those with medical needs, whether that’s a long-term illness or disability. Medical and other forms of specialist support are delivered with friendly expertise by our highly skilled team of nursing professionals. As you’d expect from our wonderfully compassionate team, nursing care is wholly person-centred to meet the requirements of each individual with respect and dignity at all times.
