What a heartwarming story! It’s amazing how social media can bring people together, even after decades apart. It sounds like Denis had such a positive influence on John, both as a teacher and a friend. The fact that John decided to open his own antique furniture shop because of Denis’s teaching shows how much of an impact Denis had on his life and career.

It’s also touching to see how much it meant to Denis’s family, especially his niece Karen, who learned more about this important part of his life. The saying "upholsterers never die, they just recover" is such a great tribute to the craft and the people who dedicate their lives to it.
