Meet Georgina Barnes, senior care assistant at MHA Lauriston who says “to support and look after those that have made our country what it is today” a privilege

It sounds like the new sensory room at MHA Gledhow, called ‘Seashell Cove,’ is a wonderful and thoughtful addition for both residents and staff! It’s heartwarming to see how a donation from the Ibbotson family in honor of Susan Ibbotson has created such a special space that evokes memories of the seaside, bringing comfort and joy to those who visit.

The room’s beach-themed elements, like sand, deck chairs, and the sounds of waves and seagulls, seem like a perfect way to stimulate pleasant memories and create a relaxing environment. It’s great that the space is accessible to all and designed with both residents and visitors in mind. The thoughtful approach to creating such a sensory experience adds a personal and meaningful touch to the care home, making it stand out in Leeds.

It’s clear that the care home is committed to providing enriching experiences for its residents, and this room is a lovely tribute to Susan.
