MHA Priceholme to host spring fair with special appearance from four legged friends


MHA Handsworth, in Altrincham, is fostering connections between toddlers and older people through intergenerational "Songs and Smiles" sessions. These weekly events, run in partnership with The Together Project, aim to reduce social isolation by bringing together children aged 0-4, their parents or guardians, and older adults.

Held every Wednesday at 11 am, the sessions feature engaging activities, including musical instruments like rice-filled eggs to encourage coordination and participation. The initiative is designed to make both generations feel part of a supportive community. Charlotte Fowke, the activity coordinator at MHA Handsworth, emphasized the positive feedback and the growing interaction between residents and the young children, enhancing their well-being and social engagement.

The sessions, which are set to continue until December 2025, welcome both returning and new participants. To book a visit or learn more, further information is available.
