A volunteer is required for our cafe serving refreshments in our care home to our residents and visitors. You will be doing some light activities and enjoying conversations with the residents, and dealing with money from our visitors. There will be some clearing up at the end of your session such as clearing tables, collecting the dishes for washing up, wiping down tables etc.
About the Role
The aim of the role is to help improve the quality of life older people who are socially isolated and may only get out to this activity. Volunteers helping in our cafe will assist with serving refreshments, and help clear up.

How much time do I need to commit as a volunteer?
The advert details the days and times we're needing help at the moment. There may be other opportunities to volunteer at other time in the future.
Generally, we ask for a minimum of two hours per week for at least six months.
What kind of support will I receive?
You will receive ongoing support and guidance from the care home team who will guide you, monitor your progress, and provide feedback. You will also have access to online resources, training opportunities, and peer support from other volunteers.
Travel expenses will be paid.

- Friendly with good communication skills
- Patience, empathy, and understanding of the needs of older people
- Flexible, reliable, and punctual
- A clear sense of personal boundaries and confidentiality
- You'll have the ability to be supportive and non-judgemental
