Represent MHA at events and in your community, helping inspire others to volunteer, fundraise or donate.

Support with small errands or shopping trips, helping older people feel independent and connected to everyday life.
Volunteer application process
We’ll keep things simple, friendly and at your pace.
1. Find a role that feels right
Start by exploring our current volunteering opportunities and choosing a role that suits your interests, skills and availability. When you’ve found the right fit, you can apply online.
2. A friendly chat
Once we receive your application, our volunteering team will be in touch to talk through the opportunity in more detail, answer any questions and get to know you a little better. It’s important to us that the role feels right for you.
3. Getting started
If it feels like a good match, we’ll guide you through the next steps. For some roles, this may include a DBS check, which we’ll fully support you with.
4. Your welcome and induction
You’ll receive a warm welcome and a friendly induction to help you feel comfortable, confident and ready to get started.
5. Ongoing support and training
We’ll make sure you have any training and support you need to settle into your role and make the most of your volunteering experience.

Sometimes it’s just a chat and a cup of tea, but it can mean the world. Befriending has shown me how powerful it is to simply listen and be there for someone.
