As a Catering Volunteer you will volunteer in the kitchen of our Social group running at Calverley Methodist Church to help prepare a two course meal cooked on site for a group of up to 30 older people.

You will help prepare food, keep the kitchen clean and to hygiene and health and safety standards and tidy away afterwards.

What are the benefits of becoming a volunteer?

By becoming a catering volunteer, you can support our services and help us to deliver a hot, delicious, nutritious meal to our members.  You can gain valuable skills and knowledge that can enhance your personal and professional development, or bring skills from a previous role to help us provide a meal which is the highlight of the weekly menu for our members.

How much time do I need to commit as a volunteer?

The time commitment varies depending on the needs of the MHA location you are matched with and your availability. Generally, MHA asks for a minimum of one hour per week for at least six months.

What kind of support will I receive as a volunteer?

You will receive ongoing support and guidance from a local coordinator who will match you with an older person, monitor your progress, and provide feedback. You will also have access to online resources, training opportunities, and peer support from other volunteers.
