At just 21, Ayesha Khaliq is already making a significant impact in the care sector, balancing full-time work as a care assistant and senior carer at MHA Glen Rosa—all while raising her young daughter.

Ayesha joined the home in Saltcoats three years ago at 18, initially planning to stay for only six months. But the warm atmosphere, strong team spirit, and close connections with residents convinced her to stay—and thrive.

“I love everything about the home—from the management, the team I work with, and of course our residents,” she says. “The long hours don’t affect me because I truly enjoy what I do.”

After taking time off for maternity leave, Ayesha returned to work full-time and continued progressing in her career. With the support of MHA, she completed her Level 2 NVQ in Adult Social Care, a key step that enabled her to take on senior responsibilities.

MHA Glen Rosa provides residential and dementia care for up to 47 residents.
