Grace Jones has spent nearly seven years working at MHA Mapplewell Manor, building a fulfilling career in social care after initially starting out in event planning.

Encouraged by a friend to try a different field, she applied for a care assistant role at the home and quickly discovered her passion for the sector. Since then, she has progressed to a senior care assistant position, a role she has held for over five years.

Now 29, Grace plays a key role in supporting residents, with responsibilities including reviewing care plans, administering medication, updating records, and providing daily assistance. She particularly values delivering end-of-life care, describing it as a deeply meaningful and dignified part of her job.

Grace highlights the strong support system from colleagues and management as a major reason she enjoys her work and remains committed to the organisation. However, she also notes that pay across the care sector could better reflect the level of responsibility involved.
