Celebrations at MHA Hall Grange as care assistant marks 20-year service

Mavis Miles, a lifelong resident of Ipswich, recently celebrated her 100th birthday in a joyous and intimate gathering at MHA Norwood, a residential and dementia care home. Mavis marked this significant milestone surrounded by her family and the caring staff of the home.

Born and raised in Ipswich, Mavis has led a diverse and fulfilling life. Over the years, she worked as a bus conductress, at Debenhams, and later held a clerical role at Willis Faber until her retirement. During World War II, Mavis also served in the Women's Land Army, contributing to the war effort on the home front.

To honor her special day, MHA Norwood decorated one of its lounges with birthday balloons, banners, and a display of photographs spanning Mavis’s century-long journey. The celebration included a delicious birthday cake and buffet, thoughtfully prepared by the home’s kitchen team.
