A lifelong Swindon Town supporter has celebrated his 100th birthday with a party surrounded by family, friends and fellow residents at his Swindon care home.

Norman Sims, who has lived at MHA Fitzwarren House since 2022, marked the milestone with a special celebration attended by around 30 guests, including his son Geoff.

Born in Swindon, Norman is a keen sports enthusiast and has supported his beloved Swindon Town Football Club throughout his life.

Before moving to Fitzwarren House, Norman worked as an accounts clerk for the Great Western Railway and lived in Gloucester and Cheltenham.

Staff at the home decorated the first-floor sun lounge with balloons and banners for the celebrations, while residents also joined in the festivities.
