There was joy and celebration at MHA Maple Leaf House in Derbyshire as resident Sarah Lowe marked her 101st birthday surrounded by friends, staff, and family.

Born in Middleton, Sarah moved into the nursing dementia care home in November 2022. She was joined by her two children, Marilyn and Adrian, who visited her on the morning of her special day with thoughtful gifts.

The team at MHA Maple Leaf House pulled out all the stops to make the occasion memorable, organizing live entertainment and showering Sarah with presents. Although the kitchen team was unavailable to bake a cake, staff ensured Sarah's favourite—a chocolate birthday cake—was at the centre of the celebration.
