Celebrations were in full swing at MHA The Fairways in Chippenham as resident Ann Wicks marked her 100th birthday surrounded by close family.

Born in Ireland, Ann was raised in Scotland by her grandparents after the passing of her parents. She later worked for the Admiralty and is the proud mother of two sons, Denis and David.

To honour the special occasion, the team at MHA The Fairways decorated the bistro with balloons and banners, and prepared a birthday cake for Ann and her loved ones to enjoy. She was also delighted to receive a host of gifts, including a congratulatory telegram from King Charles III.

Anita Barnett, Ann’s daughter-in-law, shared how much the day meant to the family. “Ann had a great day and really enjoyed having all her family together. She had her grandchildren and great-grandchildren around her, and you could see how much it meant to her,” she said.
