Chaplain at MHA Hampton Lodge launches pub club for male and female residents

Residents at MHA Hampton Lodge are enjoying regular trips into the community thanks to a new pub club launched by chaplain David Featch.

The initiative began after one resident shared a wish to visit a local pub and enjoy a pint while socialising outside the care home. What started as a one-to-one outing has now grown into a popular weekly activity involving several residents.

The pub club, which usually takes place every Wednesday, visits a variety of pubs across Southampton and gives residents the opportunity to spend time in the community, meet new people and enjoy a relaxed social setting.

Due to increasing demand, David recently made two separate pub trips in one day to ensure all residents who wished to attend were able to take part.

MHA’s Hampton Lodge provides high-quality nursing and residential dementia care for up to 44 residents.
