The contents of the time capsule

Residents and staff at MHA Handsworth in Altrincham have planted a time capsule in their newly renovated garden, capturing memories and mementos from life in 2025.

The idea came from a resident and quickly gained support from the home’s community. The capsule includes newspaper clippings showing current prices and salaries, various coins, a Covid test, photos from recent activities, and letters from residents and staff describing life at the home.

Connor Rand, MP for Altrincham and Sale, joined the event to help bury the capsule, which now sits beneath a commemorative plaque in the garden.
