Resident at MHA Handsworth recognised for outstanding commitment and devotion with Papal Apostolic Blessing

Residents, staff, and volunteers at MHA Weston and Queensway raised £610 through two fundraising events:

A 24-hour virtual bike ride from Stafford to Wembley, covering the equivalent of 254 miles and raising £500.
A charity car wash, where 12 cars were washed, raising an additional £110.

A total of 22 participants, including staff, volunteers, and one resident, took part in the cycling challenge.

The money will go into the home's amenities fund, helping to pay for resident trips and activities. Some of the funds have already been used to bring The Cheshire Farm to the home, allowing residents to interact with rabbits, chickens, and sheep.

According to Deborah Phillips, both events received strong support from residents, staff, and the local community. She also thanked The Fuse Gym for lending the exercise bike used in the challenge.

The fundraising activities were designed to be community-focused and enjoyable while supporting future resident experiences and events.

Combination of fundraisers including one with World Cup theme at MHA Weston and Queensway help to raise over £600
