A Wolverhampton care home resident celebrated a remarkable milestone this week as Mary Prosser marked her 100th birthday surrounded by family, fellow residents, and staff.

Mary, who has lived at MHA Waterside House since 2021, was treated to a private party with her immediate family, followed by an afternoon celebration with residents and staff. The home, located in Wolverhampton, provides specialist care for up to 60 people living with dementia.

Born in Willenhall in 1925, Mary began her working life in a local lock factory, where she met her late husband Ronald—affectionately known as Ron. The couple married in 1946 at the former Little London Baptist Church in Temple Bar, now Mount Olive Apostolic Church, and went on to have two children, Gary and Wendy, who were both present to celebrate her special day.
