MHA Mapplewell Manor gets outdoor fountain refurb thanks to volunteers

Two colleagues from MHA’s MHA Stratton House were given a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity after being invited to attend the prestigious Royal Garden Party at Buckingham Palace.

Julie Sheppard and Jan Rich were nominated by MHA, the organisation that runs the home, in recognition of their dedication and contribution to residents and colleagues alike.

Julie, who works across domestic, laundry and kitchen services, has been part of the home for almost nine years. Jan has volunteered at the home for 12 years.

The pair were recognised at MHA’s internal annual OSCAR awards ceremony, where Jan received the Volunteer of the Year award and Julie won the Walter Hall Special Recognition Award, named after the founder of MHA.

Royal Garden Parties are hosted annually by the British monarch and celebrate outstanding public service, welcoming around 8,000 guests including community leaders, volunteers and charity workers for an afternoon at the palace grounds.
