MHA hosts informative supporter event at iconic Cheshire venue

The husband of a care home manager in Altrincham has conquered his fear of heights after completing a 14,000ft charity skydive and raising £600 for the home.

Lee Ronan decided to put his fears to one side and take on the challenge to raise money for MHA Handsworth, where his wife Julia is the home manager.

The skydive was originally bought for Lee as a birthday present from Julia for his 53rd birthday, but the challenge was postponed due to bad weather.

After putting it off for some time, Lee decided to turn the skydive into a fundraising challenge, giving him an extra incentive to complete it.

The challenge took place at SkyDive Northwest, where Lee received a safety briefing before taking to the skies for the 14,000ft jump.

The £600 raised will go towards the home’s amenities fund, with the money set to help fund activities and events for residents over the Christmas period.

MHA Handsworth provides residential care for 43 residents.
