Residents and staff at MHA Coed Craig in Colwyn Bay recently welcomed some rather scaly—but very special—visitors in celebration of Be Kind to Animals Month.

The home partnered with Scaly Safari Co, a North Wales-based reptile and animal handling experience company, for an interactive and educational session featuring snakes, a bearded dragon, a tarantula, a chameleon, and even a Tenrec.

The visit, lasting just over an hour, gave residents ample time to engage with the animals, ask questions, and, for the braver ones, handle them.

MHA Coed Craig, which provides residential and dementia care for up to 45 residents, organised the event as a way to recognise the vital role animals play in our lives and to promote compassion and care towards all creatures.
