MHA The Willows celebrates 31st birthday with afternoon tea and Music Therapy session

Residents and staff at an MHA care home in Bognor Regis stepped into the magical world of Oz after staging a dementia-friendly pantomime of The Wizard of Oz.

Joanne Mitchell, activity coordinator at MHA Greenways, wrote, directed and starred in the heartwarming production, which proved to be a huge hit with residents, families and staff alike.

The cast featured a mix of care home staff and residents, with Joanne carefully adapting the script to include short, easy-to-remember lines, ensuring those living with dementia could fully take part and enjoy the experience.

The home’s dining room was transformed into a theatre-style stage for the day, while the audience included residents and their loved ones. MHA Greenways provides residential and residential dementia care for 44 residents.
