Two residents at MHA Waterside House visit Taste of the Caribbean festival as part of Seize the Day initiative

Residents at MHA The Homewood celebrated St George's Day with an outdoor event, taking advantage of the warm weather. The home was decorated with bunting and flags, and residents gathered outside to enjoy the festivities.

A highlight of the day was a performance by Coventry Morris Men, one of the UK’s oldest Morris dancing groups. Six members performed traditional routines, including a sword dance, which many residents experienced for the first time.

The celebration also featured classic British treats like fish and chips and cream tea, enjoyed by residents, staff, and visiting family members.

Activities coordinator Jackie Tudor said the event was a great success, noting the long-standing relationship with the dance group, who have visited annually since 2014. She added that everyone had a wonderful time and looks forward to their return next year.
