MHA Lauriston in Hastings brought a regal flair to Care Home Open Week 2025 by hosting a royal-themed garden party in honour of the King’s Birthday and the national initiative celebrating the care sector.

Running from June 16 to 22, Care Home Open Week is an annual event coordinated by Championing Social Care, designed to connect care homes with their local communities and highlight the positive contributions of the care sector.

At Lauriston, staff embraced the theme by dressing in royal attire and wearing crowns, while the home itself was decorated with Union Jack flags. The day featured live entertainment and a barbecue, creating a festive and welcoming atmosphere for residents, staff, and visitors alike.

The event also included a raffle, which raised £220 for the home’s amenities fund. The proceeds are expected to go towards repairs for the home's minibus, used for resident outings and activities.
