A Derbyshire care home is appealing to the local community to help make one resident’s 102nd birthday extra special by sending her 102 birthday cards.

Sarah Lowe, who lives at MHA Maple Leaf House in Ripley, will celebrate her 102nd birthday on Friday 2 October.

The care home is planning a birthday party for Sarah, with her two children, Marilyn and Adrian, attending, and is hoping the community will once again get behind its card appeal.

The team launched a similar appeal when Sarah turned 100 two years ago and were overwhelmed to receive an incredible 220 cards from people across the local community and beyond.
