MHA Oak Manor in Shefford brought the community together in spirited fashion to celebrate Care Home Open Week 2025, offering residents and visitors alike a week full of music, memory-sharing, and a surprise water fight to top it all off.

Running from June 16th to 22nd, Care Home Open Week is an annual initiative organised by Championing Social Care, aimed at connecting care homes with their local communities and highlighting the valuable work of the care sector.

Oak Manor, which offers residential and dementia care for 64 residents, embraced the event with a packed schedule of activities. The home also had a special reason to celebrate, having recently been honoured with the Civic Award at Shefford Town Council’s annual ceremony—an accolade recognising their exceptional community spirit.
