MHA The Homestead welcomes Care Home Open Week with music festival

Combination of fundraisers including one with World Cup theme at MHA Weston and Queensway help to raise over £600

Staff, residents, relatives and members of the local community came together at MHA Ryelands in South London to celebrate the home's third annual Cultural Day.

The event formed part of both Care Home Open Week and MHA's Music Festival, showcasing the rich diversity of the home's team through music, dance, traditional dress and cuisine from around the world.

Colleagues selected and shared songs from their home countries, creating a lively atmosphere filled with singing, dancing and celebration. Residents and guests embraced the festivities, enjoying the chance to learn more about the many cultures represented within the home.

Among those attending were the Mayor of Sutton, Councillor Muhammad Sadiq, and the Mayoress, Aasia, who joined in the celebrations.

The event also featured an international feast, with staff preparing traditional dishes from their home countries. Guests sampled a range of favourites including jerk chicken, jollof rice, sadza, plantain, puff puff and sausage rolls.
