MHA Charnwood House opens doors to community with summer fete and raises over £850

Resident at MHA Waterside House celebrates 102nd birthday with loved ones, residents and staff

MHA Fitzwarren House marked a major milestone this week as residents, staff, families, and special guests came together to celebrate the care home’s 20th anniversary. The event also recognised the remarkable dedication of 10 long-serving colleagues whose combined service totals an extraordinary 165 years.

The home, which is rated Outstanding by the Care Quality Commission, was decorated with celebratory bunting and flags for the occasion. Guests enjoyed refreshments including bucks fizz and cupcakes, adding to the festive atmosphere.

MHA Fitzwarren House, officially opened by Glastonbury Festival founder Michael Eavis in 2004, is also home to a unique collection of Quentin Blake prints. The treasured artworks were gifted by the renowned illustrator at the suggestion of Lady Ghislaine Kenyon, Blake’s friend and biographer, who is a close friend of one of the residents.

Plenty to celebrate at MHA Fitzwarren House as it marks 20-year anniversary along with staff combined service of more than 160 years
