MHA Glen Rosa opens up shop to enhance experience for residents

Residents and staff from MHA Coed Craig care home in Colwyn Bay took a spontaneous trip to the nearby beach to see a newly unveiled statue of Terry Jones. Four residents and four staff members made the short 10-minute walk, enjoying the good weather along the way.

The statue, which has attracted large crowds since its unveiling, honors Jones—best known for his role in Monty Python. It depicts his “nude organist” character from Monty Python’s Flying Circus, a tribute supported by his family through a fundraising campaign.

Despite having to queue due to the statue’s popularity, the group felt the visit was worthwhile. They finished the outing with ice cream and enjoyed the lively beach atmosphere.

Staff member Hayley Williams said the trip was unplanned but very successful, noting how much the residents enjoyed both the seaside and the statue. With the beach and attraction so close, the home hopes to organise similar trips for other residents in the future.
