MHA Homewood marks St Georges Day with outdoor celebrations and Morris dancing

Residents and staff at MHA Montpellier Manor had a memorable visit from birds of prey brought by Owl Adventures, including three owls and a Harris’s Hawk.

The visit was originally arranged for a resident whose surname, “Sowa,” means “owl” in Polish, but it quickly became a group activity enjoyed by everyone in the home. The birds spent about 90 minutes there, visiting each floor and interacting with residents.

Many residents, especially those who enjoy birdwatching, were fascinated by the experience. Staff noted how well-behaved the birds were and how joyful the residents’ reactions turned out to be.

Due to its success, the care home is already planning to host similar visits again in the future.
