MHA Homewood takes inspiration from town's lantern parade to create their own

resident couple at MHA Lauriston in Hastings have marked their 68th wedding anniversary, sharing the secret to their long and happy marriage: patience and give and take.

Pat and Reg Douglas, who moved into MHA Lauriston in December 2024 after living in Ifield, celebrated their milestone with an intimate party arranged by the care home. The staff decorated their room with banners and balloons and presented Reg with his favourite chocolates and flowers for Pat. The kitchen team also prepared a special celebration cake for the couple.

Reg, a former engineer and specialist instrument worker, and Pat, who worked in administration, have two children, Julia and Stuart. Their granddaughter and great grandchild visited them on their special day, adding to the family warmth.
