A senior care assistant at an MHA care home in Derby is taking on her biggest running challenge yet after losing more than two stones as part of a two-year personal development journey.

Jackie Cartwright, who has worked at MHA Willowcroft for 15 years, is preparing to run the Great North Run on September 13, celebrating her progress while raising money to support residents at the home.

Jackie has lost more than two stones over the past two years and has taken up running as part of her commitment to improving her fitness and wellbeing.

The Great North Run, held annually in the North East of England, is one of the world's largest half marathons, attracting thousands of runners each year.

For Jackie, the 13.1-mile challenge will be a first, and she is hoping to raise funds for MHA Willowcroft's amenities fund. The fund helps provide residents with activities, trips and experiences throughout the year.
