A dedicated staff member from a Stafford care home has gone the extra mile—literally—to support residents by taking part in the Royal Sutton Fun Run and raising more than £500.

Deborah Phillips, who works as an activity coordinator at MHA Weston and Queensway House, completed the challenging 8.5-mile route through Sutton Coldfield, raising an impressive £512.00 for the home's amenities fund. The money will be used to enhance the lives of residents through activities and outings.

The event, which begins and ends in Royal Sutton Coldfield town centre and includes a scenic stretch through Sutton Park—Europe’s largest urban park—tested Deborah’s endurance. About six miles in, she experienced ankle pain and visited the on-site medical centre. After being assessed and strapped up, she continued and completed the run.
