104-year-old resident at MHA Ryelands inspires area manager to go the extra mile

A dedicated care assistant at a Penarth residential home has celebrated 25 years of service, marking a milestone she hopes to build on before eventually retiring at the same home.

Sarah Fussell, who joined MHA Morel Court in 2000 after a recommendation from a friend, reached her quarter-century anniversary this year. It was her first role in social care, beginning shortly after completing her college studies in health and social care.

To honour her achievement, the home organised a surprise celebration, where Sarah was presented with gifts and a long-service certificate by the management team. The event was attended by colleagues, residents, and former staff members who returned to congratulate her.
