A resident at MHA Morel Court in Penarth was recently able to relive treasured memories from her past, thanks to the Methodist Homes’ Seize the Day initiative.

Val Cook, who moved to the home in 2024, expressed a heartfelt wish to go on a boat trip—something she frequently did with her late husband, Andrew, during their years together in Pontypridd, where she was born and lived for most of her life.

The Seize the Day initiative is designed to help MHA residents re-experience meaningful moments from their past or try something new for the first time. After chatting with activity coordinator Dawn Parsons, Val shared her love of being on the water and memories of trips on a boat Andrew had built himself
