That's a powerful and moving story—Jo Allan’s life and service are a testament to the quiet heroism that helped shape history. Her contribution as one of the Aycliffe Angels reflects the vital but often underrecognized roles women played on the home front during World War II. It's remarkable to think of her long daily commute and her dedication to such meticulous and high-stakes work.

Living through such a transformative century—with 12 children and a vast family spanning five generations—she must have countless stories.
