To support the local Chaplain by helping to provide spiritual, religious and pastoral care to residents, visitors and staff in the home or scheme. This will look different in each home, and will be tailored to suit your skill set and experience.
About the Role
As a Chaplaincy Volunteer you will support the work of the Chaplain who takes the lead on pastoral care, spiritual and worship aspects of life within our care homes. Chaplains provide a listening and comforting presence to all residents, visitors and staff, regardless of religious belief and as such embody the caring ethos and values that MHA seeks to nurture. The role of a Chaplaincy Volunteer is to support the Chaplain in their duties caring for the residents.

How much time do I need to commit as a volunteer?
The advert details the days and times we're needing help at the moment. There may be other opportunities to volunteer at other time in the future.
Generally, we ask for a minimum of one hour per week for at least six months.
What kind of support will I receive?
You will receive ongoing support and guidance from the Care Home Chaplain who will direct you, monitor your progress, and provide feedback. You will also have access to online resources, training opportunities, and peer support from other volunteers.
Travel expenses will be paid.
