About the Role

The aim of social and activity groups is to help improve the quality-of-life of our residents and members who may be socially isolated and may only get out to this activity. The Music Group Leader will be responsible for overseeing the activity and helping people participate.

For our music based activities we’re looking for someone who can play an instrument (usually piano, keyboard or guitar) or uses other musical resources and is willing to sing, and encourage the members and residents to join in.

What are the benefits of becoming a volunteer?

The aim of social and activity groups is to help improve the quality-of-life older people who are socially isolated and may only get out to this activity. Through organising and supporting this activity, you'll help older people to connect with others, and help to improve their wellbeing.  You will also gain valuable skills and knowledge that can enhance your personal and professional development.

How much time do I need to commit as a volunteer?

The advert details the days and times we're needing help at the moment.  There may be other opportunities to volunteer at other time in the future.

Generally, we ask for a minimum of two hours per week for at least six months.

What kind of support will I receive as a volunteer?

You will receive ongoing support and guidance from a local coordinator who will monitor your progress, and provide feedback. You will also have access to online resources, training opportunities, and peer support from other volunteers.
Travel expenses will be paid.
