Dementia appeal
Support us to provide life-enhancing equipment and technology for our residents and members living with dementia.
Dementia products
For people living with Dementia, every day can be different from the rest but through the introduction of new technology and specialist Dementia products, feelings of anxiety and agitation can be replaced with those of comfort. With the support of loved ones like yourself, our residents and members living with Dementia will receive the understanding and empathy they require to live later life well.
What our products offer:
What we offer:
Robotic Pets
From a purr to sitting on a resident’s lap, our robotic pets provide a level of companionship that offer moments of calm, just like a real pet would.
HUGs
Sometimes a hug is all someone needs and students at Cardiff Metropolitan University helped to replicate the same feeling of a HUG for those living with Dementia.
Relish
Everybody likes to feel included and through partnering with Relish, we have been able to introduce activity packs across our homes.
Key 2 Me
Through a range of picture cards and question prompts relating to a series of different topics, Key 2 Me makes starting those all-important conversations easier.
Fundraise for us
There’s no limit to how you can raise money for MHA. If you need some help finding your perfect fundraiser, we have a range of ideas to suit everyone. Whatever you do, we’ll be there to support you to reach your fundraising goal.
Make a donation
Everybody deserves to live later life well. Your generous donations make this possible by creating meaningful experiences and supportive environments, positively impacting the way people live in their later years.
Our dementia products
Key to Me
Communication is much more than just an exchange of words; for many older people, it’s a lifeline. Key to Me has the potential to initiate meaningful conversations that may have otherwise remained unspoken. The Key to Me keyrings aim to connect residents, carers, loved ones and visitors across all our homes by unlocking special memories that spark reminiscent talks across the generations.
Robotic Pets
As a nation of animal lovers, we know the impact a pet can have on our physical and mental well-being. For people living with Dementia, it can be difficult to look after a real pet but thank to generous donations and incredible fundraising efforts, we have been able to fund robotic pets in all our care homes and retirement living.
HUGs
These weighted doll-like figures are used as a sensory product and have a beating heart to mirror hugging a relative or loved one. Thanks to funding, we have been able to purchase HUGs for our care homes and have even provided training sessions for colleagues on how to use then.
Relish
From painting to puzzles and sensory games, Relish activity packs cater to everyone’s hobbies and abilities and ensure that all our residents feel engaged and have fun when taking on a new activity.
