Residents at MHA Stones Place make trip to watch victorious Imps game as part of Seize the Day initiative

It sounds like the trip to The Empress pub was a fantastic success and a great way to connect the residents of MHA Berwick Grange with their community. Jaydee Blackett’s idea to take the male residents for a drink was simple yet meaningful, creating an opportunity for them to bond over their favorite drinks and reminisce about old times. It’s especially touching that some of the more reserved residents came out of their shells to join in the fun and engage in conversations.

The social aspect of the trip is key, especially in care homes where maintaining social connections can sometimes be challenging. By facilitating an experience like this, Jaydee helped create a sense of belonging for the residents, showing that even small trips like this can have a big impact on well-being.

The success of the outing clearly demonstrated the power of community and how a shared experience can foster communication and connection. It’s great to hear that Jaydee is planning to organise more of these outings in the future.
