In this role you will use your skills, knowledge and interests to support, or plan and deliver, activities for residents.
An ‘Activity’ may be any part of daily life, done with intention, and appropriate to the resident concerned. You may be supporting an individual or you may be running a group quiz, helping on trips, or leading a sing-a-long! You may come to the role with a definite skill you would like to share – flower arranging, crafts, woodwork, music - or you may come to offer general support to whatever is running, and whoever is in need.

How much time do I need to commit as a volunteer?
The advert details the days and times we're needing help at the moment. There may be other opportunities to volunteer at other time in the future.
Generally, we ask for a minimum of one hour per week for at least six months.
What kind of support will I receive?
"You will receive ongoing support and guidance from the care home team who will guide you, monitor your progress, and provide feedback. You will also have access to online resources, training opportunities, and peer support from other volunteers.
Travel expenses will be paid."

- Are aged 16 and over
- Friendly with good communication skills
- Patience, empathy, and understanding of the needs of older people
- Flexible, reliable, and punctual
- A clear sense of personal boundaries and confidentiality
- You'll have the ability to be supportive and non-judgemental
- You'll be willing to engage with training and development
