Our Member Review and Assessment Volunteers provide a vital role in supporting an older person as a member. They provide a warm friendly face, building trust, rapport and confidence for an older person to attend social activities, so often needed when an older person who has very few friends or family living close by.
By undertaking the member reviews and assessment, we get a better understanding about an older person, their priorities, their needs, their interests, their strengths, the practical support they need and their expectations/aspirations.
By volunteering as an Member Review Assessment volunteer, you will not only help older people to have fun and stay active, but also enrich your own life with new experiences and friendships. You will also gain valuable skills and knowledge that can enhance your personal and professional development.
What are the activities that MHA offers for older people?
MHA offers a variety of events and activities for older people in its community schemes. These include arts and crafts, music, games, exercise, gardening, and more.

How much time do I need to commit as a volunteer?
The time commitment varies depending on the needs of the MHA scheme you are volunteering with and your availability. Generally, MHA asks for a minimum of one hour per week for at least six months.
What kind of support will I receive as an activities volunteer?
You will receive ongoing support and guidance from a local coordinator who will match you with an older person, monitor your progress, and provide feedback. You will also have access to online resources, training opportunities, and peer support from other volunteers.
