The aim of social and activity groups is to help improve the quality of life older people who are socially isolated and may only get out to this activity. Activity Group Leader Volunteers will be the first point of contact at the groups for our members and provide them with the support they need to join in the activity. The Group Leader will be responsible for overseeing the activity, co-ordinating and supporting other social group volunteers to collect money, serve refreshments, and help people with activities.
Our Volunteers
An activities volunteer helps to provide and support the delivery of these events and activities. An activity group leader may run their own stand alone sessions, or specific activities within a larger group. This will be with support from MHA colleagues.

How much time will I need to commit as a volunteer?
Generally, we ask for a minimum of one hour per week for at least six months.
For this role you will need to be available Mondays and/or Thursdays 1.30pm-3pm
What kind of support will I receive as a volunteer?
You will receive ongoing support and guidance from a local coordinator who will monitor your progress and provide feedback. You will also have access to online resources, training opportunities, and peer support from other volunteers.
Travel expenses will be paid.
