The role of a Social group Volunteer is to support the successful running of the group by talking with the older members, helping them join in activities and helping with the provision of light refreshments.

About the role

The aim of social and activity groups is to help improve the quality of life older people who are socially isolated and may only get out to this activity. Volunteers helping in our social groups assist with providing group members with the support they need to join in the activity, including working one to one with an older person to help them enjoy the activity, serve refreshments, and help people with activities. For example some weeks you might help a member enjoy a craft activity, or participate in a board game.

What are the benefits of becoming a volunteer?

The aim of social and activity groups is to help improve the quality-of-life older people who are socially isolated and may only get out to this activity.
