Volunteer Befrienders provide support and friendship to older people who may be feeling lonely or isolated.
You will visit an older person in Horfield Lodge and provide companionship. This might include going for a walk, playing a game or chatting.

How much time do I need to commit as a Befriender?
The time commitment varies depending on the needs of the residents you are matched with and your availability. Generally, MHA asks for a minimum of one hour per week for at least six months.
What kind of support will I receive as a Befriender?
You will receive ongoing support and guidance from a local coordinator who will monitor your progress, and provide feedback. You will also have access to online resources, training opportunities, and peer support from other volunteers.
