As a Volunteer Driver,  you will be providing a valuable service for our members, based in Bradford, taking them to social activities and lunch clubs.

We require  volunteer drivers to support our social groups which takes place Monday, Tuesday or Thursday 9am and 3.30pm for approximately an hour each time. This will include collecting our members from home and driving  them to the activities. As a volunteer driver  you will also provide friendly conversation and companionship to the older person during the journey.

By becoming a volunteer driver, you can make a positive difference in the lives of older people who may be feeling lonely or isolated. You can also enrich your own life with new experiences and friendships. You will also gain valuable skills and knowledge that can enhance your personal and professional development.

About you:

  • Be over 21 years old 
  • You will enjoy working with older people
  • Good communication skills
  • A current driving licence
  • An understanding of the needs of older people
  • You will be reliable and punctual
  • Flexibility
  • You will have a strong driving safety awareness.

How we will support you:

One of our friendly team will contact you and take you through the on-boarding process. This will includes the completion of a DBS application, 2 referees and online and face to face training, according to your individual needs.

Once you are recruited, you will receive ongoing support and guidance from a local coordinator. You will have the opportunity to take part in local community events and meet other volunteers too. We will help you develop your skills and encourage you to be involved.  

You will also have access to online resources, training opportunities, and peer support from other volunteers.
